Press Releases 22 September 2009Telco Systems Carrier Ethernet Solutions Verified By EANTC Interoperability Test Showcase During Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2009 Berlin, Germany September 22, 2009. Telco Systems, a multi-service Carrier Ethernet access and demarcation solution provider today announces interoperability for its complete line of carrier Ethernet products through extensive testing performed by EANTC AG (European Advanced Networking Test Center). The EANTC test network included more than 110 devices from 24 vendors to provide a proof-of-concept study for network operators investigating the latest generation of Carrier Ethernet solutions for mobile backhaul, managed Ethernet services, and global interconnect. The results are being showcased this week during the Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2009 in Berlin.Telco Systems tested successfully with a number of vendors in the following areas: • Synchronization functions of Precision Time Protocol version 2 (PTPv2) defined in IEEE 1588-2008 (T-Marc 254P) • SAToP (T-Metro 200) • ITU-T G.823 traffic MTIE and TDEV masks (T-Metro 200) • In an environment with microwave devices, PTPv2 master device (T-Marc 254P) • Established inter-provider VPWS over the Ethernet based ENNIs (T-Metro 200) • IEEE 802.1ag and ITU-T Y.1731 two-way frame delay, and two-way frame delay variation (T-Marc 380 and T-Marc 280) • Performance monitoring using LBM and LBR (T-Marc 280) • Errored Frame Events, critical link events, and Dying Gasp based on IEEE standard 802.3ah-2004 ((T-Marc 380) • IEEE 802.1ag Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) standard defines end-to-end Ethernet based OAM mechanisms to verify connectivity across different domains managed by independent entities providers (T5C-XG, T-Metro 200 and T-Marc 280) • CFM topology test on Cisco ANA management system Telco Systems was pleased to have provided three T5C-48T aggregation switches to enable management connectivity throughout the 15 racks filled by the hot staging equipment. Now in its fifth year, the Carrier Ethernet World Congress (CEWC) is firmly established as the world’s foremost public event to validate the interoperability of product innovations in the field of Carrier Ethernet, actually producing unbiased, verified hands-on results. “As Carrier Ethernet technology matures, new challenges arise resulting from the need to integrate new markets and fields. We are very pleased to see that the vendors have fully used the opportunity that the showcase offers to address these issues and essentially move the technology ahead,” said Carsten Rossenhovel, Managing Director of EANTC AG. Further information describing the testing procedures and the results in detail can be found in the extensive 20-page white paper available for download from http://www.eantc.com/cewc2009. ### About Telco Systems Telco Systems is a leader in innovative, multi-service Carrier Ethernet access and demarcation solutions to enable carriers and service providers to deploy highly reliable and manageable Ethernet services to both business and residential subscribers.
